A Note from President Angie Zitto:

Hello Brothers & Sisters of Local 602 here at UB, In the past couple of months we have had some horrible storms here in Western NY. There have been many inquiries about policies regarding university closures and charging accruals etc.

The local officers have been and continue to be active and vigilant to ensure that our members are aware of the official university policies regarding closures. As always, there are still some ongoing issues/concerns with the labeling of “essential vs. non-essential” employees and how this is interpreted differently by different departments. The local continues to demand definitive information in writing to share with its members.

We are also addressing the concerns raised recently regarding the January 9th storm and it’s impact on the CSEA employees as per the university’s closure policies and Governor’s office directive. As always, as more information becomes available we will relay to our members.

In solidarity,
your President Angie Zitto
